Warung Ocha - A Seminyak success story

 A few years ago there existed a small streetside warung serving basic Indonesian food. Set in the heart of Seminyak Warung Roadkill had an ear-catching name and handy location. However it was tiny and eventually went out of business.

Warung Roadkill became Warung Ocha, the same menu continued with a few tasty add-ons such as roast chicken and potatoes in marinara sauce. Expansion followed  into the back area, then along the street, then back again. Warung Ocha now has a good menu with some excellent items on.  One of the winners is grilled tuna with potato/marinana and salad for 38,000rp.

Warung Ocha has free wi-fi, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is a great place to people watch and a cozy place to sit.

Well done to Warung Ocha for continuing to improve and add value to a cool place.

Double Six is closing in Bali

The unthinkable is happening. Double Six nightclub is closing. What does this mean to the world? Life magazine did a millenium special and listed the top 10 places to be on New Years 2000. Double Six was one of those places.

All those who have been to 66, partied till dawn at 66 and pulled chicks out of 66 will remember the good times. The familiar layout was gay guys next to the pool, drug dealers behind next to the bar, hookers in the corner and 'normal' people in the other quadrant. A goulage of humanity no longer to be seen but for sure to be remembered. Thank you Pak Kadek.

Tuesday night outside JP's Warung was better than the runway at the Miss Universe contest. Hotties from Russia, China, Indonesia and a dozen other places arrived on foot, by taxi and motorbike for a DJ performance.
