Richard Gere visit to Bali prompting local gerbil boom

 Hollywood heartthrob Richard Gere, star of An Officer & A Gentleman and Pretty Woman is planning to visit Bali. The island is abuzz with chatter of where this famous star might wander, where he will choose to relax and who he will associate with. One group of local businessmen who are eagerly awaiting the visit are the local Balinese gerbil breeders, who have upped the price of 'fresh and frisky' gerbils to $1.50 a pop. 

Mr Gere will be also in Yogyakarta attending a Buddist event.

Here in Bali the dry season has kicked in, meaning, cool mornings and evenings, cooler ocean temperatures and favourable surfing conditions on the weatern Bukit and beches such as Kuta Beach.
