Julia Roberts's flick 'Eat, Pray, Love' generated attention for the island of Bali. The movie played on westerners fantasies of being pampered in paradise and captured many images of Bali. This movie has led many tourists to Bali.
One of scenes in Eat, Pray, Love is set at Padang Padang beach. A couple of years ago on a Sunday afternoon you might find 25-30 people on Padang Padang beach...now there are 250. Half of these people are Javanese tourists, many of whom eat, talk then get up and leave their trash behind. So much for another Bali beach.
