Roxy’s Global “Let The Sea Set You Free” Contest Offers the Chance for Indonesian Girls to Live the Roxy Girl Dream

14 March 2012, Bali-Indonesia: As part of the global Roxy “Let The Sea Set You Free” contest, Roxy Indonesia is excited to invite Indonesian girls between the ages of 18 to 28 who wish to experience a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to live the life of a Roxy girl to submit their applications from now until April 8th, 2012.
It’s as easy as going to www.facebook.com/roxy.id or www.roxy.com/seaforyourself and submitting 2 or 3 photos and a short 150-word (max) essay or a short video telling describing what makes you a Roxy girl.
Ultimately, Roxy is looking for three of the most intriguing, fun, engaging, daring and media savvy girls in the world to experience this life-changing adventure that includes:
· A trip to Biarritz, France for the Roxy Pro Surf Competition (departing on July 9, 2012 and returning on July 16, 2012. Airfare and hotel accommodation is included.)
· Meet the Roxy pro athletes
· Receive up to $5,000 USD
· Be outfitted in head-to-toe Roxy products
· Host Roxy video segments as well as be a face and voice for Roxy
· Learn to surf in some of the best waves in the world
· Get to know the Roxy Design Team
· Jet set on surprise trip #2 (it's amazing!) – airfare and hotel accommodations included
The Indonesian Roxy winner also receive a prestigious prize package including a limited edition Roxy Yamaha Fino motorbike, become the Roxy Indonesia Brand Ambassador, enjoy a 4 day and 3 night holiday in Bali, and get loads of amazing Roxy products.
The contest ends on June 15th, 2012, when Roxy will announce the three girls chosen to live the life of a Roxy girl. The fans (you!) and the Roxy judging panel will ultimately select the three winners. The Roxy judging panel consists of one Roxy marketing official per region and one Roxy Pro Surfer.
And what exactly is a Roxy Girl? “Roxy girls are unmatched. Full of energy and a genuine love for the world, we radiate optimism and warmth. We are kind-hearted, generous, and love to have fun. We dream big. We are always up for a challenge and down for a good adventure. We dare to be more. Do you?”
According to Holly Monkman, Marketing Executive for SEA, it’s not a requirement that the potential candidate already know how to surf. “What is most important in being the ideal candidate is your spirit and attitude. I suggest that the girls take a look at our website and our Facebook pages to view the photos and videos of our Roxy girls in order to get the real feeling of what the life of a Roxy girl is all about. I’m really looking forward to seeing some great submissions here in Indonesia, via our website and at the audition coming up in Bali on March 31st,” Monkman said.
For the Bali audition, Roxy has prepared a full day of activities on Saturday March 31st, starting with their “Roxy Let The Sea Set You Free Surfing Day” on Legian Beach in front of the Quiksilver surf School from 10 am -1 pm. Roxy team rider Gemala Hanafiah will be there to teach the girls how to surf, and in addition to free surfing lessons there will be a mini Roxy pop-up store where girls can shop for bikini’s sandals, hats, T-shirts, and other great Roxy beachwear.
Later that the afternoon starting at 6 pm, the Roxy “Let The Sea Set You Free Party With Surfer Girl” will go down at the Surfer Girl Store on Jalan Legian in Kuta. The fun and good times will include the auditions for the Roxy “Let The Sea Set You Free” program, a Meet and Greet with Indonesian Roxy girl Gemala Hanafiah, a Make Up and Nail Session by Etude, live acoustic music, live mannequins showing off the latest Roxy fashions, and a chance to win a Roxy Yamaha Fino and other Roxy goodies just for entering the contest or spend minimum Rp 499K on all Roxy products to enter Yamaha lucky draw.
This special audition is sponsored by Yamaha Mio Fino, Quiksilver Surf School, Surfer Girl, Etude and Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia with media partners Cosmo Girl!, GADIS and Cita Cinta magazine.
