Island Sustainability Center established by The ROLE Foundation
Assisting communities in setting up sustainable practices
Looking for corporate and individual donors and volunteers

Indonesia, 02 August 2012 – The ROLE Foundation’s Island Sustainability Center today launched a campaign to recruit volunteers and donors to assist with its environmental programme in Bali. With help from individual and corporate supporters, the center will teach island and coastal communities about sustainable lifestyle practices; and will run several programmes to address existing environmental problems.

The Island Sustainability Center believes that we can clean up the oceans, shorelines and reefs by starting with the lands, waterways and rivers that flow into them. The center is currently working with local communities in Uluwatu, Canggu, Keramas, Geger and Sawangan. It is assisting communities with waste management, energy and water harvesting, permaculture, fresh ocean farming, health education and town planning. The Island Sustainability Center is looking for additional funding and volunteers to support their goal of making Bali a environmentally cleaner and healthier place to live.

Mike O’Leary, CEO of ROLE and founder, said, “The Island Sustainability Center is specifically focusing on protecting the natural beauty of the island, the reason most people choose to visit Bali in the first place. Together we can produce a sustainable, ecological and environmental balance for tomorrow’s generations starting today.”

The Island Sustainability Center is looking for corporations, residents or tourists who are happy to give their time or money to help build a clean and sustainable environment for Bali. Enthusiastic supporters can email Mike O’Leary at mike@rolefoundation.org or visit the Island Sustainability website at: www.rolefoundation.org
