The impossible may become possible in Kuta Bali. The famous Kuta Beach, one of the best known beaches in the world attracts millions of visitors each year. Many of those people try in vain to actually sit on the beach and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. They soon find that as soon as they arrive an army of vendors selling everything from shells, to ice-cream to massages to bows and arrows, will pester them for business. A simple 'no thank you' often being met with 'you buy waaaan just waaaaaan!'
Enter Anak Agung Gede Agung, the regent of Badung. He's had enough of all that and has proposed to drastically changing the state of play regarding beach vendors. Hooray to that!
