British expat to run from Bali to Jakarta for charity

British man Scott Thompson will run from Bali to Jakarta to raise funds for the Cinta Anak Bangsa Foundation to help underprivileged children and school drop-outs.

Thompson, who has lived in Indonesia for eight years, planned to run non-stop for 25 days from Mar. 8, covering 1,250 kilometers.

“I will be running 50 kilometers a day for up to six hours,” Thompson said on Wednesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

He said that his motivation was to raise funds to help underprivileged children and for school drop-outs.
In preparation, he regularly jogged 52 kilometers every day from Sentul, south of Jakarta, to Menteng in Central Jakarta.

Cinta Anak Bangsa Foundation founder Sandiaga Uno expected Thompson to set an example for Indonesian people on how to share with others.

Balivillascafe Cafe says:   He could save himself the trouble by checking into one of Bali's great luxury hotels such as the Ayana Resort & Spa, order a steak and a couple of martini's, and meet a new girlfriend on DateInAsia.com. He could then fly first class to Jakarta on Garuda.
