Pro Invitational on Day 2 of the Taiwan Open of Surfing
17 November 2012, Jinzun Harbor-Taitung County: Chen Tung-Ming styled his way into a spot in the finals of
the heavily competitive Noserider Pro Invitational Division this morning. Chen will be competing against current
longboard world champion Taylor Jenson as well as fellow Taiwanese surfer Chiou

will be held tomorrow.
Chen hails from Kenting, a small but well-known surfing
spot in Taiwan, and at 37 years of age has been surfing for over 20 years. “I
felt like it was going to be a difficult heat because everyone is so talented.”
Chen said after his semi-final, “So I just tried as best I could to choose the
right waves that would give me the most scoring potential. I am so happy to
surf against such great surfers, and I hope it helps me to progress my surfing.
I am really happy to represent Taiwan in the final.”
The Taiwan Open of Surfing will run from 16-18 November at
Jinzun Harbor in Taitung County Taiwan, an Asian Surfing Championship
sanctioned Ultima event with the NTD 600,000 (USD $20,000) in prize money up
