Bali immigration turning up the heat on Bali expats

Immigasi at Denpasar airport have begun their new strategy of turing up the heatt on Bali expats, pulling over and questioning  expats on KITAS and especially those on Social and Business visas. Recent reports include immigration officers demanding the telephone number of one expat on a Social visa and pulling over another on his way to immigration check out desk demanding "Why are you here."

Many expats are here working legally. Many are also working illegally and there are others who reside in Bali, operating buinesses interests overseas. The Indonesian government's attitude towards westerners (tourists, travelers, expats) as well as the businesses operated by them, is they are all cows to be milked, and milked dry. This latest strategy of harrassing expats wwho might be in some way involved in running a business in Bali does not take into account any of the good aspects of this, for example the local jobs it creates. A typical measure undetaken by the usual suspects.
