Gold has been discovered in Bali and some reports are suggesting this could mean a 'Gold Rush' similar to the California gold rush. According to the Jakarta Post, government scientists have confirmed the existence of a massive vein of gold which appears to transsect the island from NW ot SE. This vein has the potential to be as large as the gold deposits in S. Africa and means that land in the area is now worth several times its previous value.
As a responce to the find the Indonesian government has agreed to allow foreingers to buy land and also apply for mining licences.
