Bali expat Angus McCaskill from Australia (originally NZ) has been convicted of possession of cocaine and sentenced to 7 years in prison, along with a fine of 800 million rp. Mr. McCaskill was found to have several small packets of cocaine on him when arrested last year in Tuban. The total amount was just over 4gms.
Once again we are shown the consequences of playing with drugs in a country that has strict anti-drugs laws. Also compounding that is the fact that informants will look for people to set up and Bali courts are happy to throw the book at anyone who cannot find a ‘solution’.
Mr. McCaskill will be appealing his sentence in the hope of receiving a lighter sentence.
