Hiring a car in Bali

Hiring a car for the dqy in Bali is generally easier than in most parts of the world. As long as you have some sort of ID, hopefully a driving licence and a cheerful enough personality you'll be able to drive off in under 20 minutes. A quick check of the exterior of the car to take stock of all the existing dings, a signature and you're off.

Its possible to rent a decent car in Bali for 150,000rp per day, extentions can be arranged over the phone without much worry ("Hey mate we want the car for another day." etc.). Usually the car will be on empty when you pick it up. If there is petrol in thr car it will be accounted for and you must return th ar with the same amount of fuel. Be advised that if you fill the tank and end up only using part yourself, most car rental places will be unwilling to offer a refund, as their 'system' only goes one way....you pay, you lose. This is one of the downsides of renting cars in Bali. So take care and drive safe.
